WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is hosting Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff for a day of formal talks at the White House.

Rousseff arrived at the White House on Monday for the start of her two-day visit. She and Obama toured the grounds of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial before having dinner.

The two leaders planned to meet in the Oval Office on Tuesday morning before taking questions in a joint news conference in the East Room.

The meeting comes as Obama and Rousseff aim to show they've moved beyond tensions sparked by the revelation nearly two years ago that the U.S. was spying on Rousseff. She canceled a planned state visit in response.

The White House says efforts to curb climate change are another key item on the leaders' agenda.
