Sometimes all it takes to stop a debate over torching a Koran is a dude on a skateboard. Texas boarder Jacob Isom has become the latest YouTube folk hero after he rolled up and snatched a kerosene-soaked Koran before it could be set aflame in a local park by the minister of an extremist Christian group. "He said something about burning the Koran and I was like, 'Dude, you have no Koran' and ran off," Isom, 23, told an Amarillo TV channel.

Minister David Grisham, who campaigns against non-Christians, promiscuity and homosexuality, had intended to torch the book before members of his Repent Amarillo congregation, in Sam Houston Park, reports the New York Daily News. The small group was outnumbered by a crowd of protesters, and Grisham was left with little more than matches when he slinked out of the park. Isom turned over the snatched Koran to a local Imam.
