Cast, crew can't stand actor

(Newser) – Mel Gibson's cameo in The Hangover 2, touted as his first step of a comeback, has been cut because the cast and crew couldn't stand working with him, TMZ reports. Gibson had been lined up to play a Bangkok tattoo artist in what one source described as a "pivotal" role in the sequel. "I thought Mel would have been great in the movie," said director Todd Phillips. "But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew."

Star Zach Galifianakis is rumored to have been unhappy about working with Gibson because of the star's messy personal life. He hinted at Hangover discontent during a recent Comedy Death-Ray podcast. " I'm in a deep protest right now with a movie I'm working on, up in arms about something. But I can't get the guys to listen," he said. "It's very frustrating."

I am glad to see this thread is riddled with a group of hitler's youth. I guess the anti semitic low lives of the world have nothing better to do than to post a novel about what a great guy mel gibson is and how he totally deserves a second chance. why not start a thread about what an open minded kind hearted person louis farakhan is or what a sweet dog loving guy michael vick is??? sometimes trash is trash and those should be treated as such...

Zach Galifianakis has become real full of himself lately. He is starring in "Due Date" with Robert Downey Jr. opening this weekend. Here is how we know that Zach is a douche; In April 1996, Downey was arrested for possession of heroin, cocaine and an unloaded .357-caliber Magnum handgun, while he was speeding down Sunset Boulevard. A month later, when on parole, he trespassed into a neighbor's home while under the influence of a controlled substance, falling asleep in one of the beds. He was sentenced to three years of probation and required to undergo mandatory drug testing. In 1997 he missed one of the court-ordered drug tests and had to spend four months in the Los Angeles County jail. When Downey missed another required drug test in 1999, he was arrested once more. Despite Downey's lawyer, John Stewart Holden, assembling for his client's 1999 defense the same team of lawyers that successfully defended O. J. Simpson during his criminal trial for murder, Downey was sentenced to a three-year prison term at the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison in Corcoran, California (a.k.a. "Corcoran II"). At the time of the 1999 arrest, all of Downey's film projects had wrapped and were close to release, with the exception of In Dreams, which he was allowed to complete filming. He had also been hired for voicing "The Devil" on the NBC animated television series God, the Devil and Bob, but was fired when he failed to show up for rehearsals. After spending nearly a year in California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison in Corcoran, California, Downey, on condition of posting $5,000 bail, was unexpectedly freed when a judge ruled that his collective time in incarceration facilities (spawned from the initial 1996 arrests) had qualified him for early release. A week after his 2000 release, Downey joined the cast of the hit television series Ally McBeal, playing the new love interest of Calista Flockhart's title character. His performance was praised and the following year he was nominated for an Emmy Award in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category and won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a mini-series or TV Film. He also appeared as a writer and singer on Vonda Shepard's Ally McBeal: For Once in My Life album, and he sang with Sting a duet of "Every Breath You Take" in an episode of the series. Despite the apparent success, Downey claims that his performance on the series was overrated and that "It was my lowest point in terms of addictions. At that stage, I didn't give a fuck whether I ever acted again." In January 2001, Downey was scheduled to play the role of Hamlet in a Los Angeles stage production directed by Mel Gibson. Before the end of his first season on Ally McBeal, Downey was arrested during Thanksgiving 2000, when his room at Merv Griffin's Hotel and Givenchy Spa in Palm Springs, California was searched by the police who were responding to an anonymous 911 call. Downey was under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of cocaine and valium. Despite the fact that if convicted he could face a prison sentence of up to four years and eight months, he signed on to appear in at least eight more Ally McBeal episodes. In April 2001, while he was on parole, a Los Angeles police officer found him wandering barefoot in Culver City, near southwest Los Angeles. He was arrested for suspicion of being under the influence of drugs but was released a few hours later, even though tests showed he had cocaine in his system. After this last arrest, producer David E. Kelley and other Ally McBeal executives ordered last-minute re-writes and re-shoots and dismissed Downey from the show, despite the fact that Downey's character had resuscitated Ally McBeal's ratings. The Culver City arrest also cost him a role in the high-profile film America's Sweethearts, and the subsequent incarceration forced Mel Gibson to shut down his planned stage production of Hamlet as well. In July 2001, Downey pleaded no contest to the Palm Springs charges, avoiding jail time; instead, he was sent into drug rehabilitation and put on a three-year probation, benefiting from the California Proposition 36, which had been passed the year before with the aim of helping non-violent drug offenders overcome their addictions instead of sending them to jail. The book Conversations with Woody Allen reports that director Woody Allen wanted to cast Downey and Winona Ryder in his film Melinda and Melinda in 2005, but was unable to do so because he could not get insurance on them, stating, "We couldn't get bonded. The completion bonding companies would not bond the picture unless we could insure them. We were heartbroken because I had worked with Winona before [on Celebrity] and thought she was perfect for this and wanted to work with her again. And I had always wanted to work with Bob Downey and always thought he was a huge talent." How ironic that RDJr. sandbagged a Mel Gibson production. Hollywood has long accepted drug problems but if you drink and let loose some rage you're done for. Make no mistake here, Hollywood is run by predominantly Jewish executives that still resent Mel's previous comments. This has little to do with his current marital troubles. Sorry Oksana. You're not as important as you think.Zach, you aren't either.

I already had a good reason NOT to watch this college/toilet humor movie, just for the fact the first was only mildly funny.. And I dont even see how they can spin a sequel out of this "story line". But Mel Gibson MADE me WANT to see this (I was actually looking forward to it.) NOW this has just solidified the FACT I would NVR pay to see a film with ANY of the hypocrits involved with boycotting a "scorned" man caught (illegally) by that wicked witch, who HERSELF is under a suspicious veil now too. (more so than Mel EVER was/is) I cringe at the thought of EVER going through what she has put him (as well as the rest of his family) though publicly! That whole rape (CONVICTION) "Actual SPOUSAL abuse", un-necessary violence IN the ring even (Ear-Chomping) even ADMITTED DRUG (not just alcohol) use, amongst the LONG list of other flaws associated with Tyson. Mel has only been in trouble for DUI, and the B.S. with the gypsy Octosana. GOOD Job Hangover 2 cast.. YOU specifically Zach Galawhatever (we wont even remember you in a year) have Guarenteed YOUR crap-tastic sequel' will absolutely be avoided by So many ppl now, you don't even know how dumb or hypocritical your little "if he's IN I'm out" stunt has affected a flick that hasnt even been made yet. IF my eyes EVER see more than a trailer of that movie it will be because I AM BOOT-Legging it for FREE! (as I did the FIRST one!) Dammed if it will get a single rating or DOLLAR from ME. (fyi, sequels (ALOMOST) always SUCK B*alls anyways!) IMO Mel should RE-Release "Passion of the Christ" at the theaters the SAME day this POS movie comes out.. THEN you will see the error of your ways! I'd PAY to go see that again thrice before I would watch your movie even ONCE for FREE! *Golf-Clap* to YOU ALL OH and BTW Zack Galawhatever, Robert Downey Jr. (who you did your newer movie with, "Due Date" would ONLY be doing movies TODAY because MEL F'N GIBSON Gave him a SECOND chance! NOT ONE production company would pay the insurance for R. Downey Jr. (due to his PAST behavior) so Mel Gibson PAID for it HIMSELF * http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Downey,_Jr. * Mel was the one who PUT him back in a position to finally get OUT of the gutter! DO your Re-search before you go all "girly-drama-pants" you Un-Funny, Un-Original HACK! THIS could happen to ANY one of you men in Hollywood. (and in your case Zack, I hope you find out first hand how EASILY ONE person could ruin you under certain circ.umstances. Mel screwed up, by meeting and trusting a Grifting Movie Star F'er. He was lonely, and weak after being seperated from his WIFE of 28 years. He made an error in judgement, (getting with Octosana) BUT unlike SO many other men he TRIED to be a stand-up guy and do right by his CHILD! (would Zack G. be such a good man to take care of a woman who screwed him over AND TWO kids, ONE who isn't even HIS..? I doubt he would!) ZACK G. Walk 10 ft in MEL's shoes, o wait.. HIS shoes would BE TOO big for your LITTLE self to EVER fill! Get a CLUE, then open your mouth. Cuz i'm Sooo sure you have never said or done ANYTHING you would want to take back, or keep private! MEL make YOUR own movies again, YOU don't need Hollywood to do your work! YOU still have so many people who love and support YOUR work! I'm sorry you had a lapse of judgemnet and had all this happen to you. But "THINGS WILL get BETTER!" Give us (those who REALLY see WHAT has happened to you) a chance to show YOU and HOLLYWOOD how willing WE are to support you. OUR NUMBERS ARE LARGE, AND OUR VOICES ARE LOUD. See you @ the theater!
