Cavs Hire Firm to Probe LeBron Signing

Cleveland 'not letting go' of suspicions against Heat

(Newser) – The Cleveland Cavaliers think the Miami Heat violated tampering rules in their pursuit of LeBron James, and they're spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to prove it. Cavs owner Dan Gilbert has hired a Midwestern law firm to investigate the courtship, sources tell Yahoo! Sports. He intends to build up a healthy pile of evidence from all the way back to 2008 before he requests an NBA investigation.

The law firm is eying an alleged November 2009 meeting between James and Heat owner Pat Riley, as well as a meeting between star player Dwayne Wade and people close to James in June. Riley, James, Wade, and former Toronto star Chris Bosh all say there was no advanced collusion on their Miami union. The Cavs are “not letting go of this," one insider says. "They’re not going to just let this die."

I just can't understand how a dude throwing a ball through a metal hoop can be taken so personally by so many people. It's still retarded, but at least Gilbert has a monetary influence to his whining. What about the rest of the Cleveland fans? The police force there is bracing for violence at tonight's game with the Heat! What the fuck is wrong with people?

This probably a wild goose chase by the Cavs but I'd love to see them burn somebody's ass over this deal. Obviously they won't get James back but it'd be great to show the arrogant self-centered media hound out to be a two faced jerk.
