Bernie Madoff Son Hangs Himself

Mark Madoff had been left 'unalterably bitter' by sins of the father

(Newser) – The 46-year-old son of Ponzi schemer Bernard Madoff has been found hanging in an apparent suicide in his SoHo apartment, reports the New York Post. Mark Madoff, who sources recently told the Wall Street Journal was left "unalterably bitter" by his father's crimes, hadn't faced criminal charges to date, but was sued this week along with brother Andrew by the trustee tasked with recovering assets for the elder Madoff's scheme.

He was found this morning by his father-in-law on the two-year anniversary of his dad's arrest, hanging by a leather dog leash; sources say there was no note. Before his death, he and his wife, who was in Florida, exchanged emails in which he suggested he was going to kill himself and that she should send someone to get their 2-year-old son. Alarmed, she got her father to go over to the apartment, where he found the body. The boy was in a nearby room sleeping.

At least he had the presence of mind to take his own life and not to harm his child sleeping in the next room... As to the remaining brother, I have a suggestion for you: Golden Gate Bridge...

Hmm, now let's see what good all that ill-gotten wealth will do him. I'd hate to be this guy right now with those hundred dollar bills sticking out of his pocket and Saint Peter asks him what good has he done with his life. I'm sorry I just don't have any pity here. I do hope his dad suffers some long term very painful disease for all the misery he's caused to people.
