(Newser) – JCPenney has achieved a watershed in online retail: It's opened a full-fledged store within Facebook, Consumerist reports. The store's application looks more or less like a conventional retail website, except with the characteristic social networking features: users can "like" an item and share product pages and reviews with friends using Facebook's architecture. Facebook users can check out the store here. Other major retailers are expected to follow suit.

JCPenney has set up shop on Facebook, allowing consumers to buy the company’s clothes and tell their friends about it.

Online currencies and credits are the next big thing. After Second Life and Facebook i recently found a company called MyCube which is about to launch. This is going to be the worlds first social exchange and sounded quite exciting. It will be interesting to see if it live up to its promise though
