(User Submitted) – Which states are the most environmentally friendly? 24/7 WallSt analyzes pollution levels, energy use, and environmental policies to rank them from 1 to 50:

  1. Vermont: Among its many "green" attributes, Vermont has the smallest carbon footprint in the country. It also releases the fewest carcinogenic toxins.

  1. Maine: It does a stellar job when it comes to energy. Almost half of the electricity generated in the state comes from renewable resources.
  2. Hawaii: It produces the least amount of toxic waste in the country. It also has some of the cleanest air.
New Hampshire and South Dakota round out the top 5. To see where they all rank, click here.

it probably doesn't hurt Hawaii to not have any neighbouring states, instead being surrounded by miles upon miles of ocean for them to have some of the "cleanest air of any state". lol

Why is it relevant which state is in the green zone than how the stimulus money, about US $475 mil, by Democrats used to subsize big Chinese corporation to provide cheaper components while our economy is still struggling to get a foothold and get this green people employed? The argument being the Chinese could provide more American jobs because they are fiscally responsible than Americans?
