Call it what you will—"liberal fury" (Politico), "liberal insurrection" (the Hill), "liberal uprising" (Washington Post)—Nancy Pelosi is pretty sure she can deal with it and have the House vote on the overall tax deal tonight or tomorrow. The measure ran into the fury/insurrection/uprising today when some of Pelosi's fellow Democrats demanded an opportunity to give more teeth to the estate tax, among other things. That forced Pelosi to postpone the vote.

"This is the last opportunity we have," said Rep. Peter DeFazio of Oregon. "People are paying attention now, and we think we need to make a strong statement." (More Bush tax cuts stories.)
