New York's Henrik Lundqvist faced 31 shots and stopped them all in his third shutout of the season. Chris Drury scored the winner for the Rangers in the second period—his first goal in the eleven games since Opening Night—and Michal Roszival added insurance in the third.

The Rangers' penalty kill, at 4-for-4, continued an impressive run. Drury's goal was off a ricochet from Marc Staal, who achieved his first NHL point with the assist. Staal's brothers Jordan and Eric are already established forwards with Pittsburgh and Carolina. (More NHL stories.)
