(Newser) – A late holiday shopping spree led shoppers to stores in droves, giving a fantastic finish to what is already the best holiday season for retail since 2007, the AP reports. Sales are expected to reach $451.5 billion overall this year, a 3.3% higher gross than last year. "I'm calling it Fantastic Friday," one analyst said, while the CEO of Toys R Us happily reported that: "Stores are packed."

Nothing says ADD like buying a Christmas present on Christmas Eve. Not a bad thing cause ADD is just the end of the spectrum on the interesting thing. When I was in college and worked in the lingerie department of a huge store these guys would run in at 5PM with a fist full of twenties and say I need a present and I need it now. I'd sell them the most expensive silk robes that we had and knew that their wives were thinking I can not believe you spent this much money on something so useless, and they always returned them on the 26th. This was back in the day of real cash registers and I'd tape the receipt to the bottom of the box so they could get money and not just more shit they didn't want. At some point you gotta let go of the capitalism thing, the politics thing and accept that we are just people: pretty good people--flawed but pure of heart.

That goddamn stimulus bill! How dare it give shoppers enough confidence to spend more during this holiday season than since 2007. Just watch...repuglicans will start taking credit for it soon....:::eyeroll:::....
