The Ottowa Senators improved to 11-1-0 on the season with last night's 3-2 win over the Boston Bruins, reports the Ottowa Citizen. Martin Gerber allowed two goals by Boston's Chuck Kobasew, and his defense held the Bruins to only 17 other shots on goal, a paltry effort in comparison to Ottowa's 45 tries.

Boston's "spectacular" goalie Tim Thomas stopped all but three of those shots, allowing Mike Fisher through in the first and third periods, and missing a Dany Heatley slap shot in the second. All three of Ottowa's goals came on power plays, as the Bruins couldn't stop themselves from making eight penalties to the Senators' three. (More NHL stories.)
