Second-ranked Boston College fell to the Florida State Seminoles last night, the 27-17 defeat breaking their home win streak and dashing hopes of a national title, reports the Boston Herald. Quarterback Matt Ryan hurt his Heisman chances by throwing three devastating interceptions and failing to lead his team to the sort of dramatic comeback he pulled off last week.

Ryan threw for 415 yards, but what will be remembered is the game's final minutes, when BC began moving down the field, trailing by three points. With the Eagles trying to tie it up or pull ahead with just 1:10 to go, Florida's Geno Hayes picked off Ryan's pass and ran it back for the game-clinching, and title-crushing, touchdown.
