(Newser) – CNN may replace Kathleen Parker on its Parker Spitzer show, which has posted weak numbers against competitors, sources tell the Wall Street Journal. CNN lost a third of its evening viewers last year, and the 8pm show has struggled to grow its audience in the three months since its launch. Parker Spitzer has averaged 468,000 viewers in recent weeks, the same as when it began in October. In the same time slot, Fox News pulls in 2.6 million viewers, while MSNBC garners 874,000.

“We still think that form of show is the right idea for a network like CNN at 8 o'clock, but the execution has not been what we have been happy with up to date,” said the CEO of CNN parent company Turner Broadcasting last week. “It is a work in progress. We are trying to make that show better," though it’s already "a very, very smart show." As for the rumors, "We aren't going to engage in speculation," said a CNN spokeswoman.

Spitzer is bringer in a hooker. She will report news from a horizontal perspective.

Here's a crazy idea. Report news from an unbiased perspective. If you report something from a partisan standpoint note it as such. It will give you credibility.
