The New York Rangers' supposed high-powered offense has yet to show up consistently this young season, but if goalie Henrik Lundqvist continues to not allow any goals it won’t matter. Lundqvist had 30 saves en route to his fourth shutout of the season in the Rangers' 2-0 win over Philadelphia. The victory moves New York to 7-6-1 on the year.

Elsewhere in the Eastern Conference:

  • Canadiens goalie Cristobal Huet stopped 29 shots to lead the Habs to a 2-0 victory over Buffalo.
  • David Booth’s goal with 1:19 left in the third period lifted Florida over Tampa Bay.
  • Carolina beat Washington 5-0 on the strength of Cory Stillman's hat trick.
  • Sidney Crosby netted 2 goals as Pittsburgh beat New Jersey 5-0.
