(Newser) – The latest mass animal death mystery has been solved: The 200 cows that dropped dead in a Wisconsin pasture two weeks ago were killed by, of all things, moldy sweet potatoes. The farmer who owned them originally suspected disease, but investigators ruled that out and determined the cows were likely poisoned by the spoiled sweet potatoes, which were included in their feed, Aol News reports. Wow. Those sweet potatoes must really have been toxic to kill cows that were already dead. #headlinefail

Perhaps meat should be the exception and not the rule at dinner time. Mass produced meat is not only unhealthy but it's destroying the environment and water tables across the country. The horrific abuse at factory farms should give us a clue as to how much care is put into what we eat.
