(Newser) – James Franco is everywhere, doing seemingly everything—hosting the Oscars, starring in movies, acting on General Hospital, working on a PhD, and now this ... He's developing a class at Columbia College Hollywood where the course material is— himself, MovieLine reports. It's really a class to teach editing, but the principle assignment is to create a biography of Franco using clips from his established films and unreleased shorts he directed. The name? "Master Class: Editing James Franco…with James Franco."

Editing himself ... what a self-important douche! He directed "Apocalypse Now," right? At least he's got a sense of humor, which is more than I can say about the sycophants who'll be taking his "master" class, narcissists all.

...Well, why not? Seriously, why the hell not? No one is going to have to take the class that doesn't want to, and it seems like as good a way to get credits as any other.

To all you nay-sayers who think they know this guy..... Franco reportedly has "an unusually high metabolism for productivity...a superhuman ability to focus".[1] Dissatisfied with his career's direction,[1] Franco reenrolled at UCLA in the fall of 2006 as an English major with a creative writing concentration. Having received permission to take as many as 62 course credits per quarter compared to the normal limit of 19[66] while continuing to act, he received his undergraduate degree in June 2008 with a GPA over 3.5.[66][1][67] For his degree, Franco prepared his departmental honors thesis as a novel under the supervision of Mona Simpson.[1][68] He moved to New York to simultaneously attend graduate school at Columbia University's MFA writing program, New York University's Tisch School of the Arts for filmmaking,[69][70][71][72] and Brooklyn College for fiction writing,[66] while occasionally commuting to North Carolina's Warren Wilson College for poetry.[1] He received his MFA from Columbia in 2010.[73] Franco is a Ph.D. student in English at Yale University[74] and will also attend the Rhode Island School of Design.[1] the ph.d in english was mentioned when he appeared on letterman last night. if you don't know....don't assume. he's a freaking genius.
