Arizona is taking the federal government to court for poor border security, alleging that it hasn't done enough to stop illegal immigration law, and protect the state from "invasion." The suit was filed as a counter suit to the federal government's legal challenge to the state's controversial immigration law, reports the Arizona Republic.
"We're seeking to force the federal government to do its job," says the state's attorney general, accusing the Obama administration of "actively" failing to enforce immigration law. "Arizona did not want this fight, we did not start this fight," says Governor Jan Brewer. "But now that we are in it, Arizona will not rest until our borders are secure." A Homeland Security spokesman describe the state's case as "meritless."
