On Sale in London: Breast Milk Ice Cream

It's natural and organic ... and it's called Baby Gaga

(Newser) – You know all about Lady Gaga—but how about Baby Gaga? That's the name of a new ice cream, made from human breast milk, being sold by a London restaurant. One serving costs about $23, reports the BBC. Fifteen women have signed up to donate their breast milk to the restaurant; all such donations are pasteurized, then churned with Madagascan vanilla pods and lemon zest. "Some people will hear about it and go yuck," said seller Matt O'Connor. "But actually it's pure organic, free-range, and totally natural." The idea of this is ridiculous and disgusting. What in the hell would compel someone to eat this? How do they know that the women who are so unselflessly donating their milk aren't on crack, meth, heroin or God knows what else. And what about smokers? It may be organic and pasteurized, but that would not eliminate all of the toxins passed on to the breast milk. I'm sure that the manufacturers don't have the sufficient laboratory that would be needed to be positive that all toxins are eliminated. What an idiotic concept.
