(Newser) – "Call of Duty 4: Modern Combat," released this week, takes players on the missions of elite modern fighters like the US Marines or British SAS, a departure for a video game series that previously focused exclusively on WWII. The game is set to be this holiday season's biggest seller, reports Reuters.

Video game sales predictor simExchange expects "Call of Duty 4" will sell more than 6.5 million copies for Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3 and Windows-based computers. The game offers players special powers like moving silently, as well as highly natural graphics. "The goal was to be the most photo-realistic game ever," said a company rep.
