(Newser) – Angry Birds has already conquered the smartphone market and the hugely popular game is now launching itself toward Facebook, reports the Christian Science Monitor. Analysts are skeptical that the puzzle-based game—in which players use a slingshot to fling birds at pigs—will be a good fit, but makers say they plan to add a FarmVille-esque social aspect, which will make the game habitual.

"There will be completely new aspects to it that just haven't been experienced on any other platform," the chief executive of Rovio Mobile tells Wired. "The pigs will have a more prominent role." He says movie and TV spin-offs, as well as more Angry Birds games, are on the way. The Finnish company's creation is already the best-selling paid app of all time—and an estimated 3 trillion pigs have been popped.
