A New Yorker charged with beating a woman into a coma in an argument over a parking space insists the 4-foot-11-inch victim struck the first blow. Lana Rosas, 25, is in critical condition and still unconscious more than a week after she struck her head on the pavement during the fight. Queens electrician Oscar Fuller, 35, says he hit her "out of reflex" after Rosas smacked him for trying back his car into a Manhattan parking space she was saving for her boyfriend. "She hit first," he told the New York Daily News.

"I'm very, very sorry for the situation she's going through," said Fuller, who faces up to seven years in prison if convicted of the assault charges against him. "It crushed my whole family. It crushed her family as well," he added. Click for more. (More Lana Rosas stories.)
