William: Maybe We'll Have Aussie Honeymoon

Weather back home is 'dreadful,' he tells Aussies

(Newser) – It certainly hasn't made the official royal website yet, but Prince William hinted to hopeful Australians today that he'd like to return... as a newlywed, reports Australia's News. "I will have to come back, maybe we'll have a honeymoon in Cairns?" he told a crowd in the flood-ravaged northeastern part of the country, where he was touring areas hit by natural disaster.

"I love scuba diving, I have always wanted to dive the barrier reef," he told one resident who lined up to meet him. "It's much nicer down here, the weather at home is dreadful."

(NEWSER) - Guillotine-wielding protesters aren't the only people in Britain not entirely thrilled about today's royal wedding. The British are getting an extra public holiday for the occasion and business owners complain that they're losing revenue at a time when they're trying to recover from recession. The total cost to the British economy is estimated to be nearly $10 billion in lost productivity, which won't be entirely offset by a rise in tourism—and sales of champagne and flags. More»

(NEWSER) - If the press hasn’t been loud enough about the royal wedding, the hats on display are certainly making up for it. So what’s the story behind them? An eight-member team of milliners in southwest England made at least 50 of the hats, including some for the royal family and the Middletons, the BBC reports. The hats are “individual pieces of art,” says Vivien Sheriff, the head of the rural operation. “You want to create beautiful things when you're in a beautiful area.” More»
