To Give Speech, Rutgers Pays Snooki More Than ... Toni Morrison, Nobel-Winning Author

Apparently, Rutgers University thinks Snooki is worth more as a guest speaker than Nobel-winning novelist Toni Morrison. Beloved author Morrison will be paid $30,000 to give the commencement speech in May—the first time Rutgers has paid for a graduation speaker—but Snooki snagged $2,000 more when she hosted a pair of Q&A sessions last night. One difference: The Jersey Shore star was not booked or paid by Rutgers officials, but by a student-run committee that used student activity fees to pay the reality star’s fee.

One of Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi’s wise pieces of advice, via the Star-Ledger: "Study hard, but party harder." She also taught students the Jersey Shore fist pump and how to do the iconic “pouf” hairstyle. The students who lined up early to get into the 8pm and 10pm events seemed to think it was worth the $32,000. Says one, “When you pay the tuition you know part of it is for student activities. It’s all about supply and demand and pleasing the student.” Another adds, “Honestly, I thought they would have paid her more.” Click for more Snooki revelations. (More Snooki stories.)
