Winklevoss Twins Appeal to Supreme Court

They're still trying to back out of Facebook settlement

(Newser) – The Winklevoss twins still haven’t given up in their quest to wring more money out of Facebook; they’ve now decided to appeal their case to the Supreme Court, the law firm representing them announced yesterday. The twins are trying to back out of the settlement they agreed to in 2008 (now valued at roughly $200 million), but they’ve been shot down by both a district court and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

“For whatever reason, they now want to back out. Like the district court, we see no basis for allowing them to do so,” the chief justice of the 9th Circuit court wrote in December. “At some point, litigation must come to an end. That point has now been reached.” The Supreme Court accepts less than 5% of cases, and Mashable predicts that it will not bother hearing the case.

What's next? If the Supreme Court refuses to hear the case will they go to the World Court in the Hague? There's an idea, get Zuckerberg declared a War Criminal for foisting Facebook on the world.

I finally watched The Social Network last night. I have to say if the Winklevi are anything like how they are portrayed in the movie this makes sense. One of the best scenes was when they met with the President of Harvard, trying to get Zuckerberg in trouble, and the President of Harvard basically tells them to find another project and move on. Boys, in business this stuff happens. If you didn't get anything in writing then you're screwed. Consider this an early lesson in how to do a business deal. BTW, you had an idea but Zuckerberg actually had the knowledge and skill to make it happen. You, Winklevoss twins, are a couple of rich boys who paid others to do the work on your ConnectU idea and then you're surprised when one of the guys you recuited to do the work, ends up making his own social network called Facebook. Please, just go away and enjoy the riches you already have, it's starting to look pathetic.

These guys are the definition of greedy. Take your $100 million each and go live your lives. I'd be happy with $1 million at this point. Assholes.
