Hines Ward, with Kirstie Alley coming in second

(Newser) – Sorry, Kirstie Alley fans: On last night’s season finale of Dancing With the Stars, the mirrorball trophy went to football star Hines Ward. But Alley came in second, above Disney Channel actress Chelsea Kane, PopEater reports. (NEWSER) - Poor Kirstie Alley can't catch a break on Dancing With the Stars. Last week she fell , and last night she lost a shoe. Click to about 3:18 in the above video to see it happen—as PopEater notes, "The camera crew had a choice to either follow [partner Maksim] Chmerkovskiy, who was doing a bit of a solo across the floor while Alley held a seated position, or zoom in on her frantically fumbling to get the shoe situated so she could continue. Partner causes her to fall, but still no last place for them

(NEWSER) - After a strong start on Dancing With the Stars last month, Kirstie Alley took a tumble last night—literally. She had just started her emotional rumba with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy when Chmerkovskiy's leg gave out, and he fell to the floor and pulled Alley along with him. Fortunately they rebounded, and finished the night with a not-disastrous score of 21, MSNBC reports. (NEWSER) - After a six-week stint on Dancing With the Stars that was hailed by GLAAD as the beginning of “transgender-inclusive programming,” Chaz Bono was eliminated last night. Bono had been “quite angry” after Monday night’s competition show, when he and partner Lacey Schwimmer accused the judges of making “disrespectful” comments about Bono and his weight, according to the Hollywood Reporter .
