(Newser) – The nation's top lawyer has it out for David Simon. AG Eric Holder yesterday ordered the creator of The Wire to start working on another season of the HBO crime drama—and jokingly reminded him that "I have a lot of power." Holder issued his plea to Simon and Ed Burns while appearing alongside three Wire stars at a Justice Department conference focusing on protecting children from drug abuse and exploitation, Reuters reports.

"I want to speak directly to Mr. Burns and Mr. Simon: Do another season of The Wire," Holder said, to laughter from the audience. "That’s actually at a minimum. If you don’t do a season, do a movie. We’ve done HBO movies, this is a series that deserves a movie. I want another season or I want a movie," he said. "I have a lot of power, Mr. Burns and Mr. Simon."

Yes, pretty damn funny, until you stop to think. With all the problems we as a nation currently have, this is how our AG decides to spend his time. And you can bet that it was done on "normal" working hours.

Pretty damn funny. This is what I imagine most people's dreams are in a position of power - yelling at Hollywood execs...or at least it's my dream.
