A Fox Business host is being accused of racism after declaring that President Obama likes to host “hoods” in the “hizzouse.” Eric Bolling initially referred to Obama’s Oval Office meeting with Gabon’s President Ali Bongo Thursday, then noted that “it's not first time he's had a hoodlum in the hizzouse” as images of rapper Common, who visited the White House last month, flashed on screen. Bongo—whom Bolling called a “dictator” and “kleptocrat”—is certainly no saint, but he was visiting “not only in his capacity as president of his country but because Gabon currently holds the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council,” notes Jeffrey Goldberg in the Atlantic.

Bolling was also accused of racism when he converted a pint that Obama shared in Ireland into a 40oz, Tommy Christopher writes on Mediaite. This time around, Media Matters notes, Bolling continued to use hip-hop terms including “hood,” “hizzy,” and “the big crib.” “It is curious how the Holy Hip-Hop Ghost only seems to possess Bolling when he’s talking about our first blizzack Prizzezzident, Barizzle Obizzle,” Christopher writes. Goldberg goes further, calling the comment “open, and revolting, anti-Obama racism … Bolling sees images of two black people who are entirely unrelated to each other and draws the conclusion that our black president adores all black people, in particular black people Bolling believes are miscreants.” (More Fox Business Network stories.)
