Yearbook Contains 'Child Porn'

In background of photo, students possibly engaged in sex act

(Newser) – A picture of a 17-year-old boy with his hand down the pants of a 15-year-old girl somehow made it into a California high school yearbook, and now all the students are being asked to turn in the annuals. "The photo was taken at a dance and the suspect and victim are not the focus of the photo. They are in the background," a sheriff's spokesperson explains. The photo, the AP helpfully reports, "suggests sexual penetration."

Most students at Big Bear High School have returned their books since the photo was discovered Tuesday, but detectives are warning those who haven't that they could face a charge of possessing child porn. The school plans to cover the offending photograph with another page or picture. "When the adviser scanned the photo, it was very easy to overlook," the sheriff's spokesperson says, but "you know, how you look at a photo and don't notice what's in the background? Then, it's, 'Oh my gosh, look what's going on back there.'"
