NFL Receiver Sues to Get Engagement Ring Back

...after sending it to intended through mail

(Newser) – Take note: It's probably not a great idea to propose marriage by sending a $76,600 engagement ring through the mail, unless you're absolutely certain your intended is going to say yes. Dallas Cowboys receiver Roy Williams sent a ring to former Miss Texas USA Brooke Daniels around Valentine's Day, but she turned down his proposal—and didn't return the ring. Now Williams is suing to get it back, the Odessa American reports.

In his affidavit, Williams claims he also sent Daniels $5,000 for bills and a baseball to give her brother. The pricey ring, and the recorded marriage proposal that accompanied it, was a surprise. Williams says he asked for the ring back after Daniels said no, but she claimed to have lost it. An insurance investigation, however, revealed that her father actually had the ring. Now her dad says he will give it back, even though Williams allegedly told Daniels to keep it at first, thinking she would change her mind.

Race issues beside the point, sending anything worth $76,600 through the mail for any reason seems to be rather stupid.

Sounds like non-black Texans still think it's perfectly OK to keep African Americans property. The father is going to give the ring back only because he got busted by the insurance comany. White trash!

Although I am a heterosexual male, Roy Williams, for 76,600 dollars plus 5,000 dollars. I would definately consider marrying you... Send ring and other monies and let me think about it.
