Oddly enough, playing a game on Facebook could get you this.   (Shutterstock)

Finally, a way to profit from all that time you waste on Facebook—so long as you're British. Facebook users who live in the UK can play American Express's fantasy gold trading game, in which players buy and sell gold with an eye on how news events alter gold prices in their virtual cities. The game launched yesterday, the Telegraph reports, and will offer daily prizes including dinner at Michelin-star restaurants and airline tickets. The player with the single largest daily profit after one month will win the grand prize: $16,000 worth of solid gold bullion.

As for non-UK residents, sorry: It may be called The Great American Express Gold Rush, but you can only play—you can't win prizes. (More American Express stories.)
