(Newser) – In a sign of just how much her OWN network is struggling, Oprah Winfrey found herself rejected by a former protégé. Jenny McCarthy, who had signed a development deal in 2009 to create a series for OWN, is leaving the network and taking her show concept to NBC, a source tells Fox News. “Jenny wasn’t thrilled with the direction that OWN producers were going with on the show,” the source says, so McCarthy "finally decided to embrace Oprah’s philosophy, which is to ‘follow your bliss.’ Well, Jenny followed her bliss and walked right off the project.” An OWN rep confirms McCarthy's departure.
