Amy Was Adopting 10-Year-Old: Tab

Dannika Augustine already had mom, grandma, but was poor

(Newser) – Perhaps the weirdest news to come out since Amy Winehouse's death so far: The Mirror reports that the singer was in the process of adopting a 10-year-old girl from St. Lucia when she died. Making the news even weirder? Dannika Augustine already has a mother and grandmother, but apparently Winehouse wanted to save the girl from poverty and hunger. “Amy was already my mother. I would call her mum and she would call me her daughter," Augustine says. "She took care of me and we had fun together. ... I was looking forward to living with her here or in London." The girl's grandmother says the singer had already hired lawyers to complete the adoption. The Mirror has pictures.

Although I agree with the fact that she should have had many months of recovery behind her before attempting to adopt a child, let's all here be less quick to judge.  I know she lived her life recklessly, but is it fair to judge someone that we really do not know (except through the eyes of the media and how reliable are they)? Let's at least wait for the official autopsy report.

I commend Amy for her efforts. Albeit she had her faults, she had one thing most sober people do not have: love and care. She is closest to heaven than most because of her love. As it is written, "Love covers a multitude of sins" Amy stood by that little girl in her time of need. Who shall stand by you in your time of need?....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCUz2lGTCuc
