Dr. Phil Lands Interview With Casey Anthony's Parents

Says Anthonys not paid for their appearance on his Sept. 12 show

(Newser) – Casey Anthony may be getting huge, $1.5 million-plus offers for interviews (and naked pictures), but it looks like her parents are going to be the first ones to talk to the media, with Dr. Phil scoring the big-name appearance for his season premiere on Sept. 12, reports People. "Nothing is off limits during this interview," said Dr. Phil in a statement, adding that he did not pay for the interview, save for a donation that will be made to George and Cindy Anthony's charity, Caylee's Fund

The fact that Dr. Phil snagged such a sought-after interview is a sign that his program has only gotten hotter with the departure of Oprah Winfrey from the daily talkshow circuit—and shines a light on the difficulties Oprah faces in getting top names to appear on OWN, writes Megan Angelo for Business Insider. "From an industry standpoint, this is proof positive that Oprah Winfrey is going to struggle without her show," writes Angelo.
