Investigators have concluded that Rebecca Nalepa, who was found hanged naked with her hands and feet bound in a historic California mansion earlier this summer, took her own life, says her sister. Nalepa—the girlfriend of pharmaceutical tycoon Jonah Shacknai—died just two days after Shacknai's young son suffered fatal injuries in a fall at home while in her care. Her sisters says the finding "doesn't add up," and a lawyer for the family charges that it "doesn't pass the smell test," AP reports.

Another sister says she is convinced that Rebecca was murdered. "Our faith is so strong, she wouldn’t have done that," she tells Radar. "How could she tie her arms and her feet together? She would never have wanted people to find her naked. She would never do this." Investigators plan to announce their findings on Nalepa's death and the boy's death at a press conference today.
