Experience the Caribbean

While icicles form at home, peak season is beginning for island travelers

(Newser) – If you've always wanted to visit the Caribbean but don't know where to begin, Travel+Leisure has a few suggestions. Luckily for tourists, the Caribbean comes in many flavors. Beach lovers should head for Anguilla, while golfers should aim for Bermuda, and those seeking something ultra-exclusive should head to (where else?) St. Bart's.

If you want to island hop via cruise ship, Budget Travel recommends the Norwegian Gem, which offers an 11-nighter for $1,279. Or wait until next September and board the Carnival Legend for the rock-bottom price of $469. You can only spare a long weekend? Then try islands offering nonstop flights from the US, such as Antigua, Aruba, and the Bahamas.
