Abbas Hails 'Palestinian Spring' in Hero's Welcome

Triumphant president returns home

(AP) – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has received a hero's welcome in the West Bank, triumphantly telling his people the "Palestinian Spring" has begun following his historic speech to the UN last week. Abbas asked the world body on Friday to recognize Palestinian independence, defying appeals from Israel and the United States to return to peace talks.

The speech has transformed Abbas, who widely been viewed as a bland bureaucrat, into a hero. The 76-year-old leader repeatedly shook and waved his hands to the crowd during his brief speech today. Haaretz notes that Abbas is redefining Palestinian leadership: He's democratically elected, against violence, and unafraid to go toe-to-toe with America.

This article is such ridiculous propaganda. Using words like "triumphant" and "defying" like this was some kind of victory. I hope whoever wrote this article is thrilled about the possibility of a terrorist run state earning statehood and legitimacy in the world, AKA, Hamas. Any civilized country that supports something like this is not exactly right in the head. You're supporting state run terror. The fact this article quoted something like " He's democratically elected, against violence, and unafraid to go toe-to-toe with America." in it makes me question whether or not the person who WROTE the article is even American to WANT to quote something like that from a foreign paper. They are NOT a democracy, the elections were rigged by terrorism, they do not want peace, and they do not acknowledge the co-existence (let alone existence) of what would be their neighbor. NOTHING has happened. It will get thrown out. AP is a complete rag mag now. How this site picks and chooses articles now is decisive and sickening. Articles written like this aren't news. They're propaganda.

Enjoy the show, obviously with the chaos developing across the globe the United Nations hasn't done a damn thing to help, It's about time we left and started focusing on America. Let the rest of the planet sort out their problems on their own, like big grown adult boys do.
