(Newser) – After a wait of more than two years, Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal are back on US soil. The pair, best known as stray hikers imprisoned in Iran, touched down at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York today at 11am EDT on the first leg of their long-awaited return to the United States, reports the AP. Bauer and Fattal departed Oman last night with gratitude for their hosts, saying, "We hope to someday return to this wonderful country, but for now we are eager to go home at last."

Why is it that I just do not feel any overwhelming joy over these idiots release.  Maybe my emotions would have been more positive if they'd been locked up a couple of more years and then released.

Now put these idiots to work and begin paying off the ransom money. Really, there ought to be 'idiot insurance".
