Fake Robbery in Music Video Brings Real Charges

Eight men charged in New Orleans after police raid

(Newser) – After an alert passerby in New Orleans spotted an armed robbery in progress at a convenience store, police stormed onto the scene and ... discovered it was all part of a music video. Given that some of the fake robbers were carrying unloaded guns, police were not amused. They charged eight men (including the store clerk, who was in on the video) with misdemeanor criminal mischief, reports the Times-Picayune. "This was not smart," said an angry sheriff, who strongly advocated the use of film permits next time.

Did the cops confiscate their guns? They do everyone else.

What? You expect these 'music video' clowns to be intelligent enough to let the public and police know it was art and not real.  They're lucky some cop didn't shoot someone who was waving a prop gun. Maybe a few more hours of Film Protocol 101 is in order. Just directin' . . .
