They might be 85-17 all-time against Davidson, but Duke struggled to pull out a 79-73 victory today against the Wildcats, needing key late shots from Greg Paulus. Gerald Henderson had 21 points while Kyle Singler chipped in 14 with 12 rebounds for the Blue Devils. Davidson lost its 23rd straight to a ranked team. Elsewhere in the Top 25:

  • No. 5 Georgetown (5-0) got a sub-par game from star center Roy Hibbert but still pulled out a 12-point win against patsy Fairfield, who was within one with less than seven minutes to play. DaJuan Summers had 16 for the Hoyas.
  • No. 12 Louisville won a defensive battle over Miami, Ohio 47-44, overcoming the Redhawks' slowdown game.
