Ryan Seacrest confirms couple is kaput after 72 days

(Newser) – A show of hands: How many of you saw this one coming? After 72 days of marriage, Kim Kardashian today has filed for divorce, reports TMZ. The soon-to-be former-Mrs. Kris Humphries plans to cite "irreconcilable differences," and has retained a lawyer who has represented Britney Spears, Maria Shriver, and Ryan Reynolds, among other no-longer-coupled celebs. She has a prenup. Ryan Seacrest confirmed the news on Twitter.

Kardashian released this statement to E! Online: "After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage," she said. "I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best."

Kim has learned that even a marriage can garner more money. She forgot that another human being was involved (husband). To add insult to injury, this heartless idiot goes out with an ex-boyfriend and smiles for the cameras. It would be a blessing if this backfired on Kim & all her efforts to remain in the public eye dried up - forever.
