Despite 'Hell,' Cain Still Raising Allegations haven't slowed donations, campaign says By Rob Quinn, Newser Staff Posted Nov 11, 2011 3:49 AM CST 21 comments Comments Herman Cain speaks to an overflow crowd at Streeters Nightclub in Traverse City, Michigan yesterday. (AP Photo/ John L. Russell) (Newser) – The morass of sexual harassment allegations hasn't slowed Herman Cain's fundraising. The candidate has raised $9 million over the last six weeks, according to his campaign, with $2.25 million of that donated since the sexual harassment story first broke. If money keeps flowing to the Cain campaign at the same rate, he will raise $20 million for the quarter, well ahead of Mitt Romney and Rick Perry's best totals, the Washington Post notes. At a campaign event in Michigan yesterday, Cain told hundreds of enthusiastic fans that "overwhelming" support had kept him going. "You all don't know how encouraging this is," he said. "Over the last couple of weeks, I've been through hell. Now here's the good news: It didn't kill me or slow us down one bit." Cain may have been further cheered to learn that Clint Eastwood is enthusiastic about his candidacy.
