(Newser) – Ed Stefanski, the newly appointed GM and president of the 76ers, could only look on helplessly as his team managed to lose despite shooting a scorching 56%. James Posey and Eddie House, two newly arrived Celtics backups for this season, contributed 17 and 15 respectively—Posey's in part on 4-6 three-point shooting.  Also in the Eastern Conference:

  • Luol Deng had 30 and Andres Nocioni continued to spark Chicago, pouring in 10 in the fourth quarter as Charlotte dropped its seventh straight, 91-82.
  • Sans LeBron, the Cavaliers were dominated by the Gilbert-less Wizards' big men in a 105-86 loss.
