(NEWSER) - Following her successful treatment for breast cancer, more good news for E! personality Giuliana Rancic: She's expecting a baby with husband Bill. "We are so thrilled that our prayers have been answered," she tells E! . The couple struggled to conceive and is using a gestational surrogate, who is carrying their genetic child; the baby is due in late summer. Rancic joins these other celebrity parents who used surrogates:

• Sarah Jessica Parker: When the actress and hubby Matthew Broderick were expecting, SJP feared for her surrogate mom's safety, saying the paparazzi harassed her. She later gave birth —safely—to twins.

(NEWSER) - Robert De Niro is set to play NFL coach Vince Lombardi, but—in more casting news from a different film—the role of Captain America is still up for grabs. Though a Marvel insider told Fox , "We are bracing ourselves for 'that guy from The Office' to land Captain America," Deadline reports John Krasinski is out of the running, and only two original contenders—Mike Vogel from Cloverfield and Garrett Hedlund from Tron: Legacy—are still under consideration for the superhero role. (NEWSER) - Last night’s Kennedy Center Honors brought together such unlikelies as Jack Black and Aretha Franklin to fete award winners Mel Brooks, Dave Brubeck, Grace Bumbry, Robert De Niro, and Bruce Springsteen in a three-hour variety show. Highlights of the night, attended by the president, vice president, and speaker of the house, from the Washington Post :

Actor's restaurant chain causes uproar with use of endangered tuna
