(Newser) – An elderly female hostage was sent to rob an Arkansas bank with what she believed was a bomb strapped to her ankle, according to police. When Betty Davis, 73, entered, she told bank employees, who called the cops. A bomb squad evacuated the bank and successfully removed the device, but were still checking to determine if it's actually a bomb. Before police could arrest the man who booby-trapped his hostage, he had already fled from her home, taking the family pick-up, but leaving his other hostage, the woman's husband, behind—tied up but unharmed. Police are still out hunting their man, reports AP.
