The feverishly publicized arrival of celebri-baby Blue Ivy to Jay-Z and Beyonce has revealed the ultra-luxe treatment in hospitals that a A-list celebs can attain. (Rumor has it that an entire wing of Manhattan's Lenox Hill hospital was sealed off for the couple). Private birthing in style and comfort is not exclusive to superstars, however, notes Time. Many hospitals are now offering luxurious amenities to new moms (who possess the necessary cash).

For example:

  • Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles rents out "deluxe maternity suites"—complete with three rooms, hardwood floors, and a 24-hour personal aid for $3,800 a day.
  • Mount Sinai in New York has three-room suites with views of Central Park for $4,000 a day.
  • The Matilda Hospital in Hong Kong offers ocean-view balconies and top-notch meals, while a private birthing at the Westminster Hospital in London comes with a champagne breakfast.
  • Or you can check into the Prince of Wales Private Hospital in Sydney, which is billed as a five-star hotel.
