Saints Make Easy Work of Atlanta

Posted Dec 11, 07 2:56 AM CST in Sports

(Newser) – The Atlanta Falcons were clearly distracted on the day that former franchise quarterback Michael Vick was sentenced to nearly two years in prison, giving up four drives of at least 75 yards in a 34-14 loss to New Orleans. Owner Arthur Blank said it best: "The beauty of the (NFL) is that seasons come to an end," reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Drew Brees threw for 328 yards and three touchdowns, and Aaron Stecker rushed for 100 yards on 20 attempts for the victors, who kept alive their hopes in the race for a wild-card spot in the NFC. Soon-to-be-fined Falcons receiver Roddy White showed his support for the ex-QB, displaying a "Free Mike Vick" T-shirt after scoring his team's first TD.
