(Newser) – There won't be anything pedestrian about this pedestrian bridge across the Morava River from Slovakia to Austria—not once it's named after awesome action star Chuck Norris. Norris is the runaway leader of an Internet ballot to select the new bridge's name, taking in 74% of votes so far, handily beating "Maria Theresa" (the Austro-Hungarian empress) and "Devinska" (the nearest village), reports Reuters. Voting will run until April, and a regional governor has promised to honor the people's choice.

Thanks to all the "regular" people, I've been entertained more by jokes about Chuck Norris than by Chuck himself.
