Dying Fan Gets Sneak Peek at Book Series

Thanks to his friend, Reddit, and the book's author

(Newser) – A pretty cool birthday present, as recounted by hlntv and Techdirt: Nachu Bhatnagar is a young guy with terminal cancer who may not live long enough to see how his favorite book series, Harry Turtledove's The War That Came Early, will turn out. His friend, Colton Jang, turned to Reddit for help, asking if anyone on the site knew how to obtain an advance copy of the book, which isn't due out until July.

Within a day, he not only had a galley copy on its way for Nachu's birthday, but he was able to set up a call with Turtledove himself so the two could talk about installments coming further down the road. See the video in the gallery (which has lots of understandable "Holy s----" from Nachu).
