Sarkozy Steps Out With Singer/Model

Posted Dec 17, 07 9:39 AM CST in Arts & Living Gossip World

(Newser) – The Nicolas Sarkozy soap opera’s latest turn involves Mickey Mouse. The recently divorced French president strolled Disneyland with Italian pop singer Carla Bruni on Saturday, provoking a hail of gossip, AFP reports. The president’s office was officially mum, but one magazine editor said Bruni told him personally “that from now on, it would become an affair, a public love story.”

The two are planning an intimate birthday party for Bruni, who toiled as a supermodel before turning to music. A source told the Daily Mail they are “very close indeed,” though they merely walked together at the suburban Paris theme park. They want things out in the open, a celebrity-magazine editor says: “Otherwise, I do not see why they would have gone to watch the Mickey Mouse parade.”
