Apple Workers: Tim Cook Beats Steve Jobs

...but just barely, according to new ranking

(Newser) – Tim Cook had some big shoes to fill as Apple CEO, but it looks like he's managing. According to a poll on Glassdoor.com, some 97% of employees approve of the new boss' work over the past year—an even higher proportion than the 95% who approved of Steve Jobs the year before. Of course, Cook is probably benefiting from a "honeymoon period," GigaOm notes. Cook leads tech CEOs with the highest approval rating on Glassdoor; Paul Jacobs of Qualcomm and Larry Page of Google round out the top three.

It probably doesn't hurt that money is seeping under the doorways, and crawling out of the vent holes, and being hauled in by huge trucks, hourly, and coming in the mail, and pouring down the chimney, and banging on the door begging to be let in.

I can't resist. Off topic. I wonder if they asked Logic Pro users. The same users that have been waiting on Logic X for, what, 3 years now. Apple just release Logic 9.1.7. Seriously Apple? In three years you've gone from 9.0 to 9.ONE. Luckily the Logic team is busy with GarageBand for iOS. Take that professional music producers. I'm sure Lady Gaga and the like have no problem waiting 3 more years for an update to their, ahem, professional music production app. To be fair, this is a company with about $40 billion in cash (after the dividend and stock buy back) with a market capitalization of $500 billion, so it's not like they have the resources to make their (professional, less lucrative) customers happy.

Say what you will about Jobs as an employer, but when it comes to aesthetic tase..? I'd point you to the horrendous new Apple TV interface - which Jobs reviewed and nixed some five years ago. He was the director of their visual design concepts and, while certainly a flawed individual, was the 'genius' that got them to where they are. I'd say this is DEFINITELY the Cook 'honeymoon.'
